Bob Comeau - Jazz Band Leader
Over the years, Bob never lost his passion for playing music. His favorite genres are wind ensemble (concert band) and big band jazz. He has played for dances and club dates in the Dakotas and Minnesota since he was in high school. He played in the NSCB as well as the Encore Wind Ensemble prior to his retirement.
Bob and his wife, Joan, built their retirement home in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas in 2004, where they spent their winters until returning to Minnesota in 2022. During his time in Texas, he performed with several musical groups, including the McAllen Wind Ensemble and Swing Street Big Band. Bob assumed the role of leader of the Swing Street Big Band in 2013. The band performed at RV Resorts, Craft Breweries, Auto Shows, etc. throughout the Rio Grande Valley and became the “house band” for the McAllen Performing Arts Center.
During the pandemic, the Comeaus decided to come back to Minnesota and, with their dog “Mika”, found their “forever home” in Elk River. Bob is happy to be back, and he enjoys sharing his jazz band library and equipment with the musicians of the NSCB.
